It’s been a while since we’ve had a Tex update and let’s be real: he runs the show around here. This summer we’ve been busy — playing at the dog park, learning fetch (finally) and missing dad (he’s living in Vermont until mid-September).
Before every walk, I ask Tex to sit so I can put his leash on. This is how he positions himself by the door. Race ready.
Taking a break from Vermont, Clayton was able to make it home last weekend for a short visit and we made the most of it. We took Tex to the Black Bayou boat launch and honed the swimming skills. He is a total natural and looks so at ease in the (lake) water… Bath time post lake adventure wasn’t as fun.
We just celebrated his 1/2 birthday, with a giant bone that lasted less than ten minutes, and a trip to the vet. He’s almost 55lbs and is currently in his last week of full-manhood. Wish me luck for the post-neutering recovery week, cue the cone head.
This is how we feel about the upcoming surgery — don’t mind the hole in the carpet, we’re getting that fixed this week. #puppyhood
