Last weekend we ventured two hours outside of Seattle to Crystal Mountain Resort and spent the day exploring. From the base we took the gondola up to the top and hiked about 3.5 miles down and back up through a mix of established trails, loose gravel, steep cliffside paths, and snow.
After hiking until our legs were burning (and my shoulders as it turns out) we made our way to the top for lunch and beers at the Summit House Restaurant. At the top, you’re treated to incredible views of Mount Rainier and the Cascade Range. They even have a row of lounge chairs lined up on the edge so you can sit and soak it in for as long as you please. Best of all, the resort (and restaurants) are super dog-friendly. As you can tell from the photo below, Tex had a pretty good time.
