I was recently listening to a podcast where the host referenced that their favorite city was Seattle because it was the only place that they could be skiing in the mountains and enjoying a boat ride in the same weekend. After Memorial Day weekend, I’ve learned that couldn’t be more true. If you’re looking for an adventure-filled itinerary, look no further.
We started the weekend with a trip to Snoqualmie Falls and then a hike up the west side of Rattlesnake Mountain to Stan’s Overlook. The next day we rented paddleboards on Lake Washington and took full advantage of the sunshine and warm temps. It was pretty incredible to see the “houseboats” on the water and the lux amenities they offer.
We closed out the weekend with a hike up to Rattlesnake Ridge and continued on to East Peak on the southern side of Rattlesnake Mountain. The ridge overlooks the lake and Mount Si in the distance (a future adventure) but can get extremely crowded. Pro tip: continue up the mountain a little and you’ll find the second and third overlook with killer views and far less people.
